Oliver to Mrs. Sarah McCarroll Received Parish of Carroll La January 8th 1863 from Mrs Sarah McCarroll.Eighteen Thousand Dollars cash - in full consideration for a certain tract of land situated in the Parish of Carroll La Known as the VanReupellear place containing five hundred acres - more or less - a title to which is to be made by notorial act as soon as practicable - with a full guarantee against all debts and mortgages S. D. Oliver Received Parish of Carroll, La. January 8th 1863 from Mrs Sarah McCarroll Two Thousand Dollars in cash in part payment for the slaves Daniel aged 45 years - Judge 19 + Rafe 17 - which I have this day sold to her for the price & sum of forty five hundred dollars provided said negroes come up to my description - For the remainder of the price say $2500 00/100- I agree to purchase forty bales of cotton now at M L Knox's plantation at 10 cents per lb should it be as described and to take Mrs McCarrolls note for the residue S.D.Oliver The original was filed in the thirteenth district court and was received and witnessed by clerks J.L. Cheatham and R.I.London.
