Nov. 2, 1889" We spent quite a pleasant day last Sunday in Floyd, and enjoyed the hospitally of Messrs Robert and Jas. Herring and then estimable mother, while there, we dropped in the sheriff's office and had a chat with our old friend M. London. Later on in the evening we were taken to Sunday School by Misses Katie Draughon and Annie Herring, and noted with pleasure the apparent good order the little folks kept. Mr. Ed. Newman, our former superintendent in the "Little Church around the Corner," conducts the Sunday school. The sight of our old friend in this capacity, carried us back to by-gone days, when we used to get a blue ticket for good conduct, and a red one for good lessons. Crops all over the parish are reported very good, and the people doing very well.
