September 2, 1875 Little Lula, daughter of Mrs. Minnie W. Leddy, died last Thursday, at the age of seven years, after an illness of two days, of congestive fever. She was buried in the yard on her mother's premises, with Catholic rites. A large and respectable number atended the funeral, which took place on last Friday at 10 A.M. Lula was a lovely, darling child, and was just begining to be a help to her widowed mother. The entire community sympathise with Mrs. Leddy in her sore afflictions. Lula was innocent and now "Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not, for of such is the Kingdom of Heaven." We have a new lady correspondent from Floyd. Her first communication, on the subject of the education of Southern females, will appear in our next issue, and will be found quite interesting. She promises us a serier of these articles, and we shall look for them. The Watchman seems to be popular with the ladies, as we have so many lady correspondents. We are proud of that. We clip from the Vicksburg Herald the following complimentary notice of our new foreman and manager: Mr. A. Wilkinson, an olf typrographical attache of the Herald, left for Lake Providence yesterday to take charge of the mechanical department of the vigiland Demeratic Watchman.
