March 9, 1906 False Reports In another column will be found a communication from Mr. W.P. Carter, the gentleman who was reported to have been ill with yellow fever, which will no doubt satisfactorily dissipate any uneasiness as to his malady being of a suspicious nature. The Sentry does not think that any fears were ever entertained by the people of Providence as to the case in question, but the report, it learns, has been given credence to in some places outside of the city, and Mr. Carter's article should at once set at rest the unnecessary alarm felt in these sections. That the false report was actually sent out from this city is generally believed by the citiaens, but the identity of the person who through malice or ignorance concocted the scheme of circulating such a rumor has not found. Additional Comments: The Sentry was published every Friday by The Sentry Printing Co. E. Wayles Browne, Editor- Percy N. Browne, Bus. Manger, Miss Benella Brown, Assistant Editor.
