Kennedy Has accepted a position with Mr.Pepperman, the jewelery man. She entered upon her new duties Tuesday . Orders taken for Wedding Invitations, Reception Cards, Visiting Cards. All copper pleate engraving, in the lastest designs. Sentry Ptg. Co. Misses Morine Smith and Zola Gidden, who wer the guests of Mrs. G.C. Martin last wee, left Sunday for their home at Ashton. The dance given by the young men of Providence on last Friday evening at the Opera House, which brought to a close the festivities of the East Carroll Fair, was one of the most enjoyable events of the season. The new gas lights, which the Lake Providence Mercantile Co. have had placed in their store, add greatly to the attractions of the building. E.S. Richards & Son, who have the exclusive agency for the light in Louisiana, are putting them in all up-to-date stores. Mrs. Mary McGuire died suddenly at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John McGuire, age 79 years. The funeral, which was conducted by Rev. C. Mahe, took place Monday afternoon. The Sentry extends its sincerest sympathy. Mrs. Josie Bradley, of Oak Grove, has been the guest of Miss Mary Jackson for several days this week. We were unable to obtain a list of the prizes awarded by the East Carroll Fair Association for publication this week. An exchange says: The up-to-date man appears to think that his importance is heightened in proportion to the badness of his manners.
