The show gave general satisfaction, and was very good. The three trained dogs excelled any we have ever seen. The Raging Tads Some marauding individuals committed depredations, Wednesday night, on the store of Sam Sing in this town, at an hour when decent people should be alseep. They came in front of his establishment, on the side walk, and fired several shots into his front door. They then hurled oyster shells through his transo lights breaking out his glass. Sam is a good, honest Chinese and such conduct is exceedingly repehensible in any one. Cannot the town afford a night watch to overtake these midnight revellers? Major F.S. Garner has placed us under obligations for a copy of the old Lake Providence Herald, dated June 17, 1859, almost twenty years ago, and one year before we came to this parish. We see in it a long report from. A.W. Green, Treasurer of the Levee Board. All the others who were officers then have left the parish since. Many are dead. We hear men declare if the Returning Board is not abolished they will not vote. That is the way Packard would like to hear them talk. Our only weapon is the bllot. If we don't use that, then we must quit grumbling. Such conduct as that of '72 and '74 cannot again occur. Times are tight in New Orleans. Instead of pushing forward the railroad to Texas, They give a half millon for the Mardi Gras Celebration. Adverting-- Tuesday 29th, 1876 Return of Dan Rices's New Show!
