May 16, 1901 Full program, formulated by the United Daughters of the Confederacy. The memory of Southern soldiers will be called up by simple yet impressive ceremonies. The following is the Order of Procession: 1. Confederate veterans. 2. Daughters of the, Edward Sparrow Chapter. 3. First carriage containing the Sponsor and Maids of Honor to the Confederate Reunion in Memphis, excorted by Mr. Eugene Guenard. 4. Sons of the Veterans 5. Second carriage containing J.A. Buckner, The Orator of the Day, accompained by Rev. J.E. Denson, Rev. C. Mahe and F. Boberg. 6. The little girls and yound ladies of Lake Providence, dressed in white and carrying wreaths of flowers. Mr. George Blackburn will act as Grand Marshal of the day and Dr. R.R. Bernard being Master of ceremonies, will introduce the Orator of the Occasion. A Memorial Cross will be placed in prominent position in the Cemetary. This is to receive wreaths brought in by friends and relatives, in Memory of the Confederate dead, not buried in the Lake Providence Cemetary. The people of East Carroll Parish are cordially invited to particiate in these services. The Confederate Veterans, the sons of the Veterans and the young ladies and little girls of Lake Providence are requested to meet the Edward Sparrow Chaptr, at the Opera House, promptly at 4 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, May 22nd. Members of the Press are especially invited to attend the ceremonies.
