Carroll Banner- Lake Providence, La. September 6, 1890
   The sad news comes to us of the death of Mr. J.M. Hannegan, which took 
place at Harriston, Miss. last Tuesday night at 8 o'clock.  His remains were 
taken home and interred in the family burial ground in West Carroll, last 
Wednesday evening.  Mr. Hannegan was one of East Carroll's best citizens; 
upright and honest in his dealings and alive to the interests of the Parish.  
Truly a good and useful man has gone.
