Carroll died at his home on the Bouy place, after an illness of three weeks. In his death our parish loses a good, hard working citizen, who was generous to a fault, and no one ever went to Pat Carroll for a favor that was not granted if it was in his power. He was a good man. He was a courageous Confederate soldier, and carried to the grave an ugly wound in his side, which never healed through all the years since the war. In other days he was a well-to-do man and in good buisness. To his devoted wife, who is left behind in her declining years, we extend our sincere sympathy and condolence.
