He had been having chills for some time past, but nothing of a serious nature was anticipated when he was taken suddenly very sick and passed away after a very short illness. In the death of Mr. Muir the parish loses one of its most valued citizens. A native of Scotland, he has liced here for a long number of years, and has been identified with the interests of the people during this entire time. Rev. H.W. Knickerbocker was telegraphed for to preform the burial ceremony, which took place the following Tuesday at 12 o'clock. Mrs. Muir left a few days afterwards to join her daughter, Miss Tizzie, in Chattanooga, Tenn, who, at the time knew nothing of her fathers death. An outline of Mr. Muirs life will appear next week. The family has the sincere sympathy of the Banner-Democrat in their bereavement.
