Carroll Banner  - March 16, 1889
       Died
  In the city of Vicksburg, Miss, on the 24th day of February, 1889, 
Mellville  Stein, aged 31 years; a native of Germany, and a resident of East 
Carroll Parish, La. for the last fifteen years.
             In Loving Remebrance of Melliville Stein
      A precious one from us has gone,
      A voice we loved is stilled;
      A place is vacant in our home,
      Which never can be filled;
      God in his wisdom has recalled;
      The boon His love had given;
      And though the body moulders here,
      The soul is save in Heaven
