State of Louisiana, Parish of Carroll 

Be it remembered that on the 

3rd of January A.D. 1866 W.T. Mills and Mrs. Elizabeth 

Caldwell the former a resident of Miss the latter a resident of this 

Parish of Carroll State of Louisiana and in said Parish personally 

Appeared before me Wm C. Perris on of the Justice of the 

Peace in & for the parish of Carroll together with Martin Cassetty, 

 W.A. McLemore & Thos Mabin all witnesses of full age 

and Residents in said Parish and that these and there the said 

W.T. Mills & Mrs. Elizabeth Caldwell having produced the 

license required by law signified their desire and intention 

before us the said justice and witnesses to be united in the 

state of matrimony where upon after due proclamation 

made and no impediments being suggested they the 

said W.T. Mills & Elizabeth Caldwell were by me the 

said justice in the presence of said witnesses joined in 

wedlock according to the laws of the State of Louisiana, and duly 

pronounced husband & wife. 

   In testimony where of the parties to said marriage 

here affix the signatures together with the signature of me the 

Justice and that of the witness on this the 3rd January 1866

note: Elizabeth Caldwell's maiden name was Mabin, She was also known as L.A.
