DeFrance, Clk I, John C. Pabst resident of the Parish of Carroll in the State of Louisiana reminded of the uncertainty of life, and being of sound and disposing mind; do ordain this My last will and testament. First. It is My wish and desire that My Son-in-law Monroe Fleming be left Administrator to My estate, and if My said Son-in-law should die before the estate is settled, then it is My wish that Benjamin C. Williams take charge and wind up the unsettled business of the estate. I leave to my Daughter Christiania Fritericke Schwarzkobf all the Property I have in Germany and to her and to her Heirs, and two hundred dollars from that which I have here. And I hereby appoint My Son-in- law Monroe Fleming and Ben C. Williams to send to My said Daughter in Germany, after My death, a copy of this will, and also the two hundred Dollars which I leave to her here. The balance of My property I want divided into five equal shares, amongst my four children and My Present wife Rachael Pabst, Wilhelmina Arnstena Carolina Fleming and Henrietta Arnstena Lefevre, Christian Pabst, and John Christian Ernst Pabst. Thirdly, it is My desire and will that Paul Lefevre the husband of My Daughter Henrietta Arnstena shall have nothing to do with what I bequeath to her, and in case she should die before he does, I wish the law to take care of the children's share, and pay it over to them as they become of age. I do not wish My Daughter Mrs. Lefevre to have the benefit of what I leave her, until after the death of her said husband Paul Lefevre. In witness whereof I this day caused to be written and read aloud in presence of Me and the undersigned witnesses. This the twentieth (20) day of April, AD 1859. Declaring the same to be My last will and testament, and furthermore, it is My will that Monroe Fleming and Ben Williams shall as soon as possible after My death, forward a copy of this My Will, and also the two hundred dollars, to My Daughter in Germany as herein above named.
