DAWSON FAMILY GATHERS FOR REUNION AT AUDUBON PARK

One hundred and fifteen members of the Dawson family gathered at
Audubon State park in West Feliciana on Labor day for their first
annual family reunion. Flinn Dawson of Jackson served as chairman
for the event. Follwing prayer led by Rev. Lonnie M. Sibley of
Clinton, a picnic dinner was served from long tables under the
park shelter. In the afternoon, plans were made to hold the
reunion annually on Labor day and there were picture taking and
games. 

According to available records, the family has been traced back
to 1752, at that time living in Virginia, and then moving to
Mississippi and Louisiana in the 1800's.
