Obituary for Sherwood Bennett

 A loving father, son and brother and a retired employee of Crown Zellerbach, 
he died Monday, April 4, 2011. He was 62 and a resident of St. Francisville.

Visitation the Grace Episcopal Church, St. Francisville, on Thursday, April 7, 
from 9 a.m. until service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Roman Roldan. 
Burial in the church cemetery. 

Survived by his daughter, Carlin Marie Bennett, of New Orleans; son, Cpl. Cory 
Forrest Bennett, of Ethel; father, Morris Bennett, of St. Francisville; 
sister, Derry Anne Bennett Cartee and husband Louie Cartee, of Baton Rouge; 
and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Preceded in death by his mother, Mary Walker Bennett. Pallbearers will be Irv 
Daniel, Edward Daniel, Lance Walker, Francis Rinaudo, Douglas Linwood Kendrick 
III, Dan Klein Jr., Randy Davis and Al Osterberger. Honorary pallbearers are 
John C. Wilcox, Michael Bennett, Ed Shields, Clifford Wilcox Jr., Charles 
Bennett, JW Bennett, Emmett Barrow, James Bryant Jr., Tony Rosa and David 
Reynolds. 

He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was a 
graduate of St. Francisville High School and attended Southwest Mississippi 
Junior College. He was a member of St. Francisville Lion’s Club and an avid 
fisherman, golfer and hunter. 

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 10528 Kentshire 
Court, Baton Rouge, LA 70810, in honor of his mother.
