Obituary for Marvin Bennett

 Marvin Bennett died at 5:25 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010, at his home in 
Clinton. He was 69 and retired from East Louisiana State Hospital with 34 
years of service. 

Visiting at Charlet Funeral Home Inc., Zachary, Monday, Nov. 1, 2010, from 6 
p.m. to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. Masonic service. Visiting at Milldale Baptist 
Church on Tuesday, Nov. 2, from 8:30 a.m. until religious service at 10 a.m., 
conducted by the Rev. Danny Greig and the Rev. Jimmy Robertson. Burial in 
Masonic Cemetery, Clinton. 

He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Nancy Bennett; two daughters, Lisa 
McGregor and husband Jay, Franklinton, and Shana Thornton and husband James, 
Watson; two stepsons, Adam Town and wife Cathy, and Troy Town and wife Amber, 
all of Zachary; a sister, Irene Morgan and husband Duke, Kentwood; a brother, 
Bobby Bennett Sr. and wife Betty, Greensburg; nine grandchildren, Charlsa 
McGregor, Logan McGregor, Hunter McGregor, Devyn Thornton, Forrest Town, River 
Town and Stone Town, and Julie Town and William Town. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Marion Bennett; mother, Gladys 
Sanders; and a brother, Eddie Bennett. 

Pallbearers will be Jackie Whittington, Sylvester Giroir, Darren McCrory, 
Jeffery Graves, Jared Robertson and Jerome Robertson. Honorary pallbearers are 
Carroll Graves, Ed Robertson, Lewis Robertson, his grandchildren and nephews. 

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a member of St. Albans Masonic Lodge. He 
enjoyed hunting, fishing and running his beagles
