Visiting was at Charlet Funeral Home Inc., Clinton, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday. Visiting at First Baptist Church, Wilson, 8:30 a.m. until religious services at 10 a.m. Friday, conducted by the Rev. Billy Rose and the Rev. Darwin Hall. Interment in Eastern Star Cemetery. Survived by a daughter, Linda Carruth, Wilson; two sons, Ancil A. Carruth Jr. and his wife, Yancy, and Willie Carruth and his wife, Sandra; a sister, Margie Miller, Clinton; two brothers, Lionel Barrett, Ponchatoula, and L.E. Massey, Baton Rouge; nine grandchildren, Robin, Diedra, Daniel and Kristen Carruth, Stacey C. Foretich, Mark, Marlon and Matthew Carruth and Yancy Ann Roberts; and three great-grandchildren, Gavin and Ethan Carruth and Andrew Roberts. Preceded in death by husband, Ancil A. Carruth Sr.; a daughter, Shirley Annette Carruth; a brother, Jeff Barrett; and parents, Eudie and Charlie Manchester Massey. Pallbearers will be Mark, Marlon, Matthew and Daniel Carruth, Mark Foretich and Jack Withers. She was a charter member of First Baptist Church, Wilson. EMMETT ALTON A retired carpenter and a lifelong resident and native of Slaughter, he died at 5:13 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, 1998, at Lane Memorial Hospital, Zachary. He was 72. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Visiting at Charlet Funeral Home, Zachary, Monday from noon until religious services at 3 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Basil Wicker, assisted by Pat Bourg. Interment in Redwood Cemetery, Slaughter. Survived by two sisters, Eunice R. McKey and Tena R. Ory, both of Slaughter; a brother, Ellis V. Rogillio, Clinton; a close friend, Vesta Williams, Brownsfield; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a member of VFW, Jeb Stewart Post, Baker. BERGERON, SR. VICTOR F. A welder and a retired T&I instructor for East Baton Rouge Parish School Board, he died at 11:45 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, 1998. He was 82 and a resident of Bluff Creek. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Visiting at Charlet Funeral Home, Zachary, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and after 8:30 a.m. Monday. Religious services at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Monday, conducted by the Rev. Byron Comish. Graveside services at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Washington, at 12:30 p.m. Monday. Survived by a daughter, Victoria B. Meares, Slaughter; two sons, Leon William Bergeron and Victor F. Bergeron Jr., both of Baton Rouge; three sisters, Beulah Borden, Folsom, Josie Dekemel, Slidell, and Margie Growl, Arabi; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Beatrice Bergeron, and a daughter, Anna Alma Bergeron. He was a deacon at Bluff Creek Baptist Church and a member of Fairfields Masonic Lodge. WEBB, CHARLIE LEONARD "BILL" A resident of Clinton, he died at about 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, 1997, at his residence. He was 90 and a native of the Oklahoma Territory. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II with two years service in the European Theater. Visiting at Charlet Funeral Home, Zachary, noon until religious services at 2 p.m. Friday, conducted by the Rev. John Nelson. Interment in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Baker. Survived by a daughter, Christena Gardner, Zachary; a son, Charles Webb, Clinton; a sister, Irene Ingram, Bringhurst, Ind.; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great-grandchildren and a great-great-great-grandchild. Preceded in death by wife, Ida Mae Boyd Webb; parents, John P. and Ida Mae Anderson Webb; a brother, Dick Webb; and two sisters, Lee Brewster and Maude Lamb. Pallbearers will be C.J.
