Probate Book " F ", pg. 467, # 263 - Sucession of R. McRay To the Hon. Judge of the Parish of East Filicinae state of Louisiana. The petition of Henry Skipwith Public Administrator respectfully represents that, R. McRay, departed this life in said Parish many years since intestate & has no heirs present or represented in the state, leaving some property consisting of an old deferred land claim against the United [ States ?] No. (blank space) Reports U.S. State papers. That said property should be inventoried appraised and sold according to law & that petitioner is entitled to the administration of the same. Wherefore he prays that he be ordered to take charge of said estate that a commission issued to Henry Hawford Not. Pub. to make an inventory of said estate and that the property inventoried be appraised & sold according to law to Pay debts & that an attorney be appointed to represent the absent heirs of said estate. By his [ title ?] D.C. Hardee This petition considered it is ordered that Henry Skipwith Public Administrator take charge of said estate, that a commission issue to Henry Hawford Not. Pub. to make an inventory of said estate assisted by experts by him appointed, that D. J. Wedge be appointed to represent the absent heirs of said estate & have service hereof. And after due legal delays and advertisement the property appertaining to said estate be sold to pay debts and settle said estate for cash provided it brings its appraisement, if not, to be immediately reoffered on a credit of twelve months for what it will bring.
