Sussex County     Knowall Men by these presents that me John Griffith
			junior                   of the County afod Yeoman             and    Nathan
                       Clifton                 of said County Yeoman          are hold and firmly bound
                       unto the Delaware State in the Sum of Five Hundred Pounds of lawful
			Money of said state to be paid for the use of the same, to which payment
			well and truly to be made and done We bind ourselves, our Heirs Exeort
                       and Ad____ and every of them jointly and severally firmly by those
			presents Sealed with our Seals and dates this Seventeenth day of
                       February       One thousand and Seven hundred and Eighty Nine
	The Condition of the above Obligation is such that if the above burden
	John Griffith				Executor		of the Last Will and Testament
	of John Griffith		late of Sussex County decd do make or cause to be 
	made a true and perfect Inventory of all and singular the Goods, Chattels and 
	Credits which were of the said decd which have or shall come to the hands or 
	possessions of him the said John Griffith		       or to the hands or pos
	session of any other person or persons for him and the same to made do
	exhibit or cause to be exhibited unto the Registers Office for the County afod on
	or before the Seventeenth      day of May          next ensuing, and the 
	same Goods, Chattels and Credits and all other Goods, Chattels and Credits of
	the said decd at his death which have or shall come to the hands or possession
	of him the said John Griffith            or to the hand or possessions of any 
	other person or persons for him do well and truly Administer according to Law,
	and shall make or cause to be made a true and just account of his       said
	administration on or before the Seventeenth day of February  next ensuing
	and all the rest and residence of the Goods, Chattels and Credits of the said 
	decd which shall be found remaining on said Administration account,
	the same being first examined and allowed by the Orphans Court for this
	County afod  shall distribute and dispose of according to the tenor and 
	effect of the Sa[i]d Will and Testament of the said decd  Then the above
	Obligation to be void or else to remain in full force and Virtue

Transcribe by Charla Helmers April 16, 2006   From the Microfilm Collection of Probates for Sussex County located in the Delaware Public Archives-Dover, Delaware.

Isaac Griffith lived in Bayou Chicot in Evangeline Parish. He moved there 
from Dover, DE. The transcriptions are of his grandfather's last will and 
testament & where his father, John Grifftih, was executor over the probate 
for Isaac's grandfather who was also named John Griffith. Isaac's daughter 
married Cornelius Tatman who was a nephew of Purnel Tatman who married 
Isaac's aunt, Barsheba Griffith Tatman.

These documents help to bridge the Louisiana family of
Griffiths to their roots in Delaware.
