Wilford died on Tuesday, but Tom and Mrs. Beard will recover. Coroner Littell held an inquest on Monday and the following verdict was rendered: "That Walford Higginbotham and Wm. Beard came to their death on the 15th day of December, 1888, from pistol shot wounds fired from the hands of the three brothers, Joseph, Tom and Willie Higginbotham." Joseph and Willie are in jail.
