Our little community was saddened and thrown into grief yesterday by the sad misfortune of one of our esteemed families. It was the accidental drowning of the little two-year old daughter of Mr. A. H. Launey. There was a pond in the corner of the yard, and whilst playing alone she fell in and was drowned. Her mother had but a few moments left her to go invite the grand-mother to take a Christmas dinner with the family. The next day the grief of the heart-broken father and mother can better be imagined than described, and is heart rendering to witness. It has seldom if ever been the pleasure of the writer to meet one of such tender years that was so bright and interesting as little Adelaide Myra Launey. Loved by all who knew her, she has left a void in the hearts of relatives and friends that can never be filled. A FRIEND.
