The Opelousas Courier (Opelousas, La.) Image 1 January 1, 1887

In an altercation which took place at a ball at the residence of Mr. Thos. B. 
Fontenot in Anse Belair, near Ville Plate, on Christmas night, two young men, 
Yves Berza and Olivier B. Fontenot, were severely wounded. Almost before the 
bystanders were aware that a difficulty was in progress, these young Hotspurs 
flew at each other, and with their knives proceeded to carve their respective 
anatomies into a variety of fantastic shapes, inflicting several ghastly 
wounds which may result fatally in both cases.
