Ville Platte. - Perry Elliot, son of Mr. and Mrs. Davis Elliot of near 
Centerville, was drowned in Bayou Cocodia when he tried to cross the bayou alone 
in an old skiff. The water was deep and it is said he could not swim.

NOTE: Full name: William Perry Elliot, age 30 years old when he died.
