D-2, Column 2. Clarence Beuford Fontenot, age 79, died 21 May 1996 in the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Pineville, La. He was a longtime resident of Oakdale, La., a Deacon and Member of Beaver Creek Baptist Church and a Veteran of World War II, receiving several medals, including: American Theater Campaign. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a deputy for the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office. Survivors: Wife, Ruby F. Fontenot of Oakdale, La. Daughters: Cynthia Fontenot Harp and Freddie F. Howard, both of Tulsa, Oklahoma Sister: Beulah F. Williams of Oakdale, La. Grandchildren,2; Great-Grandchildren, 2. Services: Held at 10 am. Friday at Beaver Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Vernon Powell officiating. Burial: Under direction of Ardoin's Funeral Home of Oakdale, La. in Beaver Creek Cemetery.
