Nellie Giroir Fontenot 
April 20, 1943 - January 5, 2017

VILLE PLATTE - Funeral services for Mrs. Nellie Giroir Fontenot, 73, will be 
held at 11AM Saturday January 7, 2017 at Our Lady Queen of all Saints 
Catholic Church with burial to follow in the Te Mamou cemetery. Fr. Mitch 
Guidry will officiate.

Mrs. Fontenot a resident of Ville Platte passed away Thursday January 5, 
2017 at Mercy Regional Medical Center.

She leaves behind her husband John Wayne (J.W.) Fontenot of Ville Platte; 
son Neilly Fontenot of Ville Platte; daughter Rose Fontenot and husband Dirk 
of Ville Platte; brothers Norman Giroir of New Iberia, Paul Gioir of Morgan 
City; sisters Sarah Mae Gaspard of Kaplan, Gladys Solar of New Iberia; 3 
grandchildren Brandon Fontenot, Dakota Fontenot, Arris Fontenot. She is 
preceded in death by her parents Augustine and Gladys Landry Gioir and 
daughter Sherry Ann Fontenot.

Visitation will be held Friday January 6, 2017 from 11AM until the time of 
services with a rosary being recited at 6PM.
