Fontenot June 22, 1926 - September 3, 2016 Shelton J. Fontenot a longtime resident of Ville Platte passed away in Lafayette September 3, 2016 at the age of 90. Shelton was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy after World War II. Shelton loved to dance. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, and fishing with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved this great man. Shelton leaves behind to cherish his memories three daughters Brenda DeVille of Ville Platte, Susan F. Bodin and husband Leland of Maurice and Annette F. Latiolais and husband Scott of Youngsville. Four grandchildren Wendy D. Prather, Kristi DeVille, Travis Bodin, and Tyler Bodin. Four Great- Grandchildren Lindsey Ortego, Zachary Prather, Neva DeVille, and Hardesty Grube. Shelton was preceded in death by his wife Nettie S. Fontenot, parents Maurice and Mandy Fontenot, three sisters, and one brother. Shelton will be laid to rest with his loving wife Nettie in the Evangeline Memorial Park Mausoleum with a private family service.
