SIMON P. FONTENOT - Funeral service were held Sunday at 3 p. m. at St. Joan 
of Arc Catholic Church in Oberlin for Simon P. Fontenot, 78, Rev. Fred Russi 
officiated. Burial was in the Oberlin Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin 
Funeral Home of Kinder.

Mr. Fontenot died at 5:15 a. m. Saturday due to an auto accident which 
occurred three miles east of Oberlin on Highway 26.

He was born in Ville Platte, but had resided in Oberlin during the past 45 
years.

Survivors include his wife, Dora G. Fontenot of Oberlin; two sons, Reynald 
P. Fontenot of Eunice and Patrick Fontenot of Lafayette; one daughter, Mrs. 
Kathleen Berry of Lake Charles; three brothers, Eugene Fontenot of Houston, 
Tex., Bill Fontenot of Golden Meadow, and Nolan Fontenot of Pine Prairie; 
two sisters, Mrs. Ada Buie of LaRose and Mrs. Edmese Ortego of Ville Platte; 
12 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
