The Weekly Gazette, Ville Platte, Louisiana  December 29, 1917

Mrs. Armaud F. Ortego, of Petite Mamou, died of measles and complications
Thursday at 12:40 p.m.  Mrs. Ortego, a sister to Miss May A. Sylvester who owns
property and lives in Ville Platte, was an amiable woman and a splendid mother
and housekeeper.  She leaves her husband, one daughter, Leola, and Beulah, a
foster child, to mourn her untimely demise.
