Tate Funeral services were held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church here at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 30, 1988 for Mrs. Lee Tate Sr., the former Thelma Pitre, 74, with burial following in Mrs. B. J. Fontenot Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin’s Funeral Home. Mrs. Tate, a resident of Ville Platte, died at 1:30 p.m., Friday, July 29, 1988 at Humana Hospital, after a long illness. Mrs. Tate was a housewife. Survivors include her husband, Mr. Lee Tate Sr. of Ville Platte; one son, Lee Tate Jr. of Lafayette; four brothers, Lionel Pitre of Lafayette, LeRoy Pitre of Lafayette, Burke Pitre and Hosea Pitre, both of Ville Platte; five sisters, Mrs. Ellen Jane Fontenot of Lafayette, Mrs. Jay Isreal of New Orleans, Mrs. Vivian Soileau, Mrs. Hazel Dadeau and Mrs. Marie Perron, all of Ville Platte; for grandchildren and one great grandchild.
