OBITUARY.

Died, at the residence of her father, Yves Vidrine of Ville Plate, Amelie, 
age 9 years, on Friday, February 26th, 1892.

THE DEATH OF A SCHOOL-MATE.

She is gone! She is dead! No sleep so beautiful and so calm as the sleep of 
death; but Oh! how sad it is to part with one we loved so dearly as our 
little Amelie. She had barely seen nine summers, when the Angels called her 
to join their happy band, and the Father bade her come. She went, but she 
left many sorrowing friends behind, all of whom, will one day pass into the 
next world and join her there. That will be a joyful meeting, for we shall 
all be glad to meet our dear little friend and school-mate.

Scarcely a week since she was one of our number, but alas! she is no more! 
Never again shall we see in this world, that little figure wending its way 
to school, with books in hands, and never again in this earth, shall we hear 
that sweet young voice join in with the happy band of school-children, as 
they kept time with the organ while the beloved teacher played.

She was the youngest of a loving mother and devoted father, and the idol of 
their hearts also of the hearts of her brothers and sisters. So stricken are 
her family and friends, that they are almost beside themselves with grief.

So blameless was her short life in this world, that everyone who knew her, 
loved her, and feel sad whenever her death is mentioned. Let us all try to 
be as much loved, as was dear little Amelie, so that when we leave this 
world no one will feel glad.
