Obituary - Alexandria Daily Town Talk, Thursday, 26 July 1996,
P. D-2, Column 3. 

Junies (sic) West, age 82 of Bayou Chicot (La.) died 23 July 1996 in Savoy
Medical Center. 

He was a member and deacon of St. James Baptist Church and a member of Pride
of Ville Platte, Lodge No. 76.  

Survivors:  Wife, Elmira West of Bayou Chicot. 

5 sons: Rufus Junies West, Joshua West & Willie Heath West, all of Ville
Platte.  Elijah West of Texas City, Texas; Robert Lee West of Bayou Chicot.

6 daughters: Lionell (sic) Guillory of Church Point (La.);  Sandra Williams,
Brenda Allison & Linnie (sic) Pleasant, all of  Bayou Chicot (La);  Minell
(sic) Henderson of Coloma (sic), Michigan;  Ethel Lee Loften (sic) of Liberty,
Texas.

5 brothers: Jeffery West and Barry West, both of Ville Platte (La.); 
Henry West of Crosby, Texas; Rufus West of Houston, Texas;  Leroy West of
California.

1 sister: Martha West of Ville Platte.

44 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Services: Held at 7 pm. Today in St. James Baptist Church with Rev. Edges (sic)
Williams officiating.
 
Burial: Under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home in Oakdale (La.) in the church
cemetery on Saturday at 10 am.
