Walker Dead Mrs. Thos. J. Walker of St. Landry died at the Alexandria Sanitarium on last Sunday afternoon after a lingering illness of several months, aged about thirty five years. Before marriage she was Miss Laura Lee Wassan and even as a girl was noted for her accomplishments and lovable disposition. As a wife, her natural gifts were only strengthened and developed so that in her maturer years she was referred to in still more enduring terms as a model neighbor and wife. She is survived by her husband who was formerly a member of the police jury from the fifth ward and who has many friends here who sympathize with him to his great misfortune. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon and the body laid to rest in the old cemetery at Chicot where lie the remains of many who helped make the spot both sacred and historic.
