Last Rites Held For Aged Turkey Creek Resident

Funeral services were held at Turkey Creek for Mrs. Mally [sic] Carpenter, 
90 year old widow of Bernard Willis, who was laid to rest in the cemetery 
there Thursday. Funeral services were said by the Rev. Rogers, of Pineville, 
La.

Mrs. Carpenter was a resident of Evangeline parish all of her life. She was 
born in 1847 and during jer long life has seen remarkable changes in her 
native section.

The deceased is survived by a host of grand children and great-grand 
children. Her surviving children are: Mrs. Mary Fontenot, Turkey Creek; Mrs. 
Anne Northworthy, Strong, Ark.; and Zeno Willis, of Alco, La.
