Know all men by these presents, that we, Van Walker as principal and Robert Walker,
as security, are held and firmly bound unto the Governor of the State of Louisiana
in the sum of Three Hundred Dollars for the payment of which we bind ourselves , our
heirs, executors and administrators, jointly and severally by these presents.

Dated at Ville Platte, this 21st day of October, 1939.

Whereas, a license has been this day issued by the Deputy Clerk of the District
Court in and for the Parish of Evangeline, to unite in the bonds of Matrimony the
above bound Van Walker and Ethel May Whatley.

Now therefore, the condition of the above obligation is such, that if there should
exist no legal impediment to this alliance, then the above obligation to be nll and
void: else to remain in full force and virtue.

law of the Parish of Evangeline -- Greeting:

You are hereby authorized and empowered to unite in the Bonds of Matrimony according
to the law and established rules,

Miss Ethel Mae Wathley [sic - Whatley]

And when you shall have done so, that you make a duplicate acts of the celebratio
thereof, signed by yourself and three witnesses, as required by law, one of which
acts shall return within thirty days to the office of the the Clerk of the District
Court in and for the Parish of Evangeline, together with this License.
