In the Name of God:  Amen  	December 14th 			1788

	I John Griffith of Sussex County in the Delaware State being weak in 
body but of Perfect Sound mind and memory and considering that it is my Lott as
well as all other men's, once to die, do make and ordain this my last will and 
Testament.                      First I give and recommend my Soul to almighty god that
Gave it me and as touching Such worldly Estates as it has pleased almighty God
to bless me, I give devision and dispose of that the Same as follows                    viz.
	To my son John Griffith, I give and devise my dwelling House and Planta
tion and all my Lands Lying on the East Side of the Run of the marsh
Main North East Branch of Nanticok river, to him his heirs and assigns forever
allso all my right and Interest of in the  [aBend] Passed to me by Wyndes Creeks
               and he must pay debts and Just Claims that my come aga																		
inst my Estate.
	To my Son Charles, I give and divise all my Lands Lying on the West Side of 
the Run of Said Marsh or Branch, to him & his heirs & assigns forever
	To My Daughter Betsey I give and divise one Negro Girl Called Amica
to her and her heirs & assigns forever  also one Bed & Furniture, one
Blue & Red Counterpaine, and one Chest, now Called hers
   To my Daughter Polley Willey:  I give and divise one Negro Girl
Called Rose to her and her heirs & assigns forever *Provided She will
accept of her and Keep her in Bondage,  if not to be  Equally divided 
among my other Children.  I allso give her one Bed and furniture
now in her Possession.
   To my daughter Barsheba Tatman I give and divise, one Negro 
Boy Called Britain to her & her heirs and assigns forever, allso one
Bed and Furniture and three head of Sheep now in her Possion
   To my daughter Rachael I give and divise one Negro Boy called
Jim and one Negro Girl Called Hannah  to her & her her heirs              hers
& assigns forever.   allso one Feather Bed & Chest & One Yearling called
            To my two Grand daughters Ann & Usuce5 Griffith I give five Shillings cash & no more
	All of my Stock and other Personall Property not above disposed off 
to be Eqally divided among my four daughters above named.
	& Lastly I make and ordain my afod  Son John Griffith my 
Sole Executor of this my last will & Testament hereby revoking
all former Wills by me made & Confirming this to be my last will
& Testament; In Witness whereof I have here unto Suscribed my 
name and acknowleged the Same
   Signed Sealed, acknowledged, Published, and declared, by the Said John
Griffith to be his Last will & Testment in presense of John Griffith    Sealed
