90 years old - 

Last Monday there was a pleasant reunion at the residence of 

Mr. June Bell, ward 7, in honor of the birthday of his father-in-law 

Mr. William Hampton who was born Aug. 1st 1808, just 90 years ago. 

Mr. Hampton has scores of friends in this and adjoining parishes and is 

respected by everybody. He was for 6 years Sheriff of this parish. He is 

the father of Messers Preston, Morgan and Tom Hampton. Besides these 

gentlemen and families, he has five daughters living and married, giving him 

a total of 8 living children, 20 grandchildren and 17 great grand-children -- 

making 45 direct descendants living. We hope the old gentlemen who is 

still hale and hearty may live for several years yet.
