M. Ashley. It is near the banks of Bayou Macon off the old Warsaw road. Copied Sept 30, 1984 Henry J. The cemetery was started because of the 1882 back water. A high place was needed for a cemetery. It was located in the very back part of the pasture on the Bonner place. There was no fence and at one time there were 4 graves with huge massive tombstones. Persons known to be buried in this cemetery are: Gordon Nugent, ?? Brinsfield, Jamie Brashear, and one whose name is unknown. The above information was given by Mrs. Luther (Effie) Burt on Oct 15, 1984 ***************************************************** #4 This abandoned cemetery is located on the S B Caldwell property north of Crowville, LA. It is now in pasture and only two tombstones were found. Copied Sept 13, 1984. There is one stone broked in several pieces we could not read. It is believed this may have been the tombestone for: MARTHA ANN CROW, Daughter of John R & E A Robbins, WIFE of Thomas J Crow. b 7-3-1852 - d 2-7-1875. MARRIED 4-20-1872 Mollie Crow, 1855-1878 CHRIST IS MY HOPE T J Crow, 1844 -1878 HIS MEMORY IS BLEST There may be other unmarked graves. ****************************************** #5 This abandoned cemetery is located on property belonging to Mr. John D Gwin and is now in pasture. It is located near Pine Bayou out of Winnsboro, LA. Mrs. Elsie Gwin Norwood and Mr. Ernest McMurray furnished information on the persons buried in this cemetery. Mr. John A Gwin's first wife (name not known) BABY of Mr John A Gwin and his first wife (name is unknown) BABY of John A Gwin & Allie Henry Gwin (2nd wife) Mrs. Margaret Ann Morgan McMurray (She is the Grandmother of Mr Ernest McMurray. Her Husband, John Ervin McMurray, is buried in West Feliciana Parish, LA). This cemetery was started because of the 1882 backwater. Thomas Nugent, grandfather of Lem Nugent, is supposed to be buried at this cemetery. **************************************************** #8 There are two cemeteries, long abandoned, located on the Jones Landing road near Beouf River. Just before you get to the Roy Beach home at the end of this road is a cemeter in a grove of trees located in a soy bean field. Only 2 markers remain. Copied Aug 4, 1984 Ed Toliver, 3-3-1867 - 11-30-1920 MASONIC F.C.B.NO. 143 William Singleton, 8-5-1876 - 11-8-1924 On the left side of this same road is a grove of trees and looks as if it was a cemetery at one time. There are no markers left. It is said that one cemetery was for blacks and one was for the whites. Some of the older folks said at one time there was an Indian burial ground on this road also. ************************************************ #9 This abandoned cemetery is located on property owned by Mr. Vester Busby at Crowville, LA and located on the bank of Bayou Macon Cutoff #2. At one time this was a large cemetery. Tombstones are not standing but are off in a gully. This pre Civil War cemetery is one of the oldest in the parish. Copied Sept 13, 1984 Davis T.
