Over 400 persons were present for the dedicatory program. The sermon of the morning was delivered by Rev. C.S. Wroten Baptist pastor. The usual Sunday school program was held before church services. Members of the building committee, who are largely responsible for completion of the building, were W.A. Scott, foreman of carpenters, George Collier, Guy Sowell and I.M. Ward. Materials were furnished at cost by a local contractor. John Baker helped with the plans and Wilton and Woody Franklin painted the building and stained the floors. The staining material for the floor and the old pews was provided by the Women's Missionary society. The new church is an attractive 60 x 36 foot building, painted white. It was paid for by donations of church members and is now debt free.
