H.M. Scott Sr.’s widow, Elizabeth remarried  John Sikes in
Franklin Parish on October 21, 1862.  The document say Marriage 
Book B, pages 2 and 3, Franklin Parish, but the document was 
wrongly filed and thus evaded researchers for years.  
They moved to Jackson Parish and Elizabeth sold her land in 
Franklin Parish to her son, H.M. Scott Jr in 1870.  Documents 
proving the death of Henry Montague Scott Sr prior to 1860 are 
found in Ouachita Parish Courthouse; they concerned the care of a 
minor son or grandson of Henry's.
