These schools made up the entire black school system for Northern Franklin Parish. The first black bus driver for this area was Mr. Herod Collins. He charged a 5 cent fee per student for his services. These schools and their teachers were: Union Valley - Mrs. Beatrice Johnson Friendship - Mrs. Emma Coward Martin - Mrs. Lucy Broom Smith, Mrs. Louise Tutt Peasant Green - Mrs. Lucy Broom Smith Bellview - Mrs. Sadie Woods Philadelphia - Mrs. Bessie Collins
