POTTER FAMILY Among the older families of Boeuf Prairie is the Potter family whose family homestead is located near Potter's Landing on Beouf River. J.C. Potter was born April 23, 1833 and died April 21, 1918. He was eight years old when he moved to Louisiana from Mississippi. He is interred in the Bouef Prairie Cemetery. John Caleb Potter married Mary Bullard in Vicksburg, Mississippi on February 11, 1855. Their children were: John Caleb Potter Jr. George Washington Potter, born September 15, 1858; died November 24, 1945 in Franklin Parish, La.; married Susan Mary Kincaid December 10, 1885 in Franklin Parish, La. Mary Alice Potter, born 1862; married Joseph Vetsch September 07, 1884 in Franklin Parish, La. The Potter family is closely associated with the prominent Robinson family.
