Thompson, Judge of the 8th Judicial District Court in and for the Parish of Franklin, Louisiana: The petition of T.B. Gilbert, Jr. or the Parish of Franklin, Louisiana, with due respect represents: That Dr. Samuel C. Trahern departed this life, intestate, at his residence and domicile in the Parish of Franklin Louisiana, on the 14th day of January A. D. 1907, leaving an estate situated in said Parish and state, consisting of both real and personal property; that there are privileged and ordinary debts due by said estate, which render an administration thereof necessary. Petitioner further represents that the said decedent left surviving him his last wife, Mrs. M. C. Trahern, and partner in community of a portion of his personal property, and the following children and grand-children, issue of two former marriages, as his sole and only heirs at law, to-wit: A daughter, Mrs. Sallie Moore, now wife of ____ Moore; a daughter, Mrs. Virginia Roberts, now wife of W. G. Roberts; a grandson and a granddaughter, W. W. Trahern and Mrs. Katie Byrne, wife of W. P. Byrne, representatives the decedent's deceased son, Samuel H. Trahern, all being issue of the first marriage of the said decedent. Also, a daughter, Mrs. Mollie Batey, now wife of W. B. Batey; a daughter Mrs. Louisa Humble, now wife of H. W. Humble; a daughter Mrs. Sudie Tines, now wife of Anderson Tines, and four grandchildren John Holloway, Mrs. Rosa Holloway [sic]*, now wife of J. C. Holloway, Fletcher Byrne and Emma D. Byrne, representatives of decedent's deceased daughter, Mrs. Dixie Byrne; all issue of the second marriage of the said decedent. Petitioner further represents that all of said heirs and said surviving wife are willing and have requested him to administer of said estate, and that, being a creditor, he is entitled to the administration. Petitioner also represents that an inventory of said estate, descriptive and estimative, should be taken in the manner and form prescribed by law. Therefore, petitioner prays that he be permitted to administer on the estate of the said decedent and that letters of administration issue to petitioner upon his complying with the requisites of the law; and that an inventory, descriptive and estimative, of the decendent's estate be taken in the manner and form prescribed by law, by H. J. Lea, Clerk 8th Judicial District Court of Louisiana and Ex-Officio Notary Public of the Parish of Franklin, said State.
