Choat Both residents of the Parish of Franklin and State of Louisiana and the said James Gwin acknowledged and declared that for and in consideration of the sum of Two thousand dollars to him in hand paid before the signing of these presents that he had this day bargained sold and delivered and he does by these presents bargain sell and deliver unto the said Isaac W. Choat all his right title interest and claim in and to a certain tract or parcel of land being and lying in the said Parish and state known and designated as follows to wit: Northeast quarter of Section No. Ten of township No. 14 of Range six east his interest containing one hundred acres with the reserve of ten acres in the north west corner of said quarter of said quarter section together with the following property as designated to wit One horse called Rainger One Mare called Puss and Filly called Kitty One Yoke of Oxen called Nig and Cabel and ten head of Stock Cattle more or less marked with a crop and two splits in the right ear and Swallow fork in the left or branded in a circle with a letter L, and fifty head of hogs more or less marked in the same mark as the Cattle. One brass eight day clock. To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land and the personal property designated aforesaid unto the said Isaac W. Choat his heirs and assigns for ever. The parties to this act dispense with the production of the certificate of Mortgages and release me the Notary Public from all the responsibility as contained in article 3328 of the Civil Code of Louisiana done and signed in the presence of William Hampton and Kinchin Lasiter legal and competent witnesses hereto required who have signed with the parties and me Notary Public on this the ninth day of March in year of our Lord 1844.
