Davis of the Parish of Concordia and State aforesaid for and in consideration of the sum of Four hundred dollars to me the said Davis in hand paid by Joel Trahorn of the same Parish and State the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged have this day bargained sold and conveyed and by these presents do bargain sell and convey set over and deliver unto the said Joel Trahorn and his heirs and assigns for ever all that certain tract or parcel of land lying and being situate in the Parish of Catahoula and State aforesaid on the waters of Bayou Mason it being the east half of the south east quarter of Section number nine of range number nine and Township number eleven east containing seventy eight and fifty hundredths acres which will appear from the receivers duplicate receipt dated the 5th May 1841 which tract or parcel of land I the said Davis do by these presents for ever warrant and defend unto the said Joel Trahorn his heirs and assigns the aforesaid tract of land together with all the privileges and appurtenances thereto belonging or in any wise appertaining hereby warranting the same to the said Joel Trahorn against the claim or claims of all person or persons whatsoever and the said Joel Trahorn being present accepts this private conveyance in all its parts and clauses in testimony whereof the said Richard G. Davis and the said Joel Trahorn hereto set and subscribed by signing their own proper signatures in presence of Lucinda C.
