Barber Is Dead After Gunfight H. B. Barfield Is Being Held In Local Jail Bad feelings which had existed for some time between H. B. Barfield and S. T. Barber of Ward 8, came to a head yesterday as the two men met, both armed, and shot it out, Barber receiving fatal buckshot wounds. Immediately after the shooting, Barfield came to Winnsboro and surrendered to Sheriff Allen Price. He was lodged in jail here to await action on his case by the grand jury. Barber died last night, several hours after the shooting. Little information regarding the trouble existing between the men was available when the Sun went to press. Barfield will probably enter a plea of self defense when arranged. He used a shotgun and it is said Barber fired at him several times with a pistol. --------------------------------------------------
