All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Accident on Saturday Claims Local Woman's Life Mrs. Delois Dunn Brown, 44, Winnsboro, died Saturday as a result of injuries received in a one-car crash on Robinson Road, State Highway #865. The Franklin Parish Sheriff's office reported that the accident occured about 7 a.m. as Mrs. Brown was returning home from her nurses aide work at the Franklin Parish Hospital. The car skidded, left the road, and struck a huge pecan tree in the front yard of Mrs. Mary Robinson's home. The impact of the collision centered on the driver's side door. Mrs. Brown was pinned inside the vehicle, and emergency workers labored for about an hour before freeing the still conscious victim. Mrs. Brown died a short time later while under treatment at St. Francis Hospital in Monroe, where she had been transferred following the initial treatment at the Franklin Parish Hospital. Mrs. Brown worked at the Winnsboro High School Cafeteria. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Oak Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Wendell Pool officiating. Burial was in the Oak Grove Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn's Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Survivors include her husband, Enoch Brown of Winnsboro; one son, Andy Brown of Winnsboro; two daughters, Miss Kathy Brown of Winnsboro and Mrs. Clorece Jones of Central; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Dunn of Winnsboro; one brother, Dr, Tuscon Dunn of Ruston; three sisters, Mrs. Helen Gwin, Mrs. Bonnie West, and Mrs. Loretta Lively, all of Winnsboro, and three grandchildren.
