S. Parker Mrs. Parker Is Drowned On Tuesday Morn No One Knew of Tragedy Until Lady Failed to Appear at Home In attempting to reach a fishing line which slipped into the water, Mrs. W. S. Parker, of near Wisner, fell in Bayou Macon and was drowned Tuesday morning. The body was recovered after two hours search. Mrs. Parker had been fishing on the banks of the bayou during the morning and left her line to visit a neighbor. When she returned it is thought that she discovered that her line had slipped into the water and in attempting to regain it, fell into the water and drowned. No one was witness to the tragedy and it was not known that she had lost her life until her husband, becoming alarmed at her failure to return home, began a search for her along the bank of the bayou. Failing to find her, a search of the bayou bottom was begun and her body was soon recovered with hooks. A coroner's jury investigated the case, returning a verdict that death was due to drowning. ----------------------------------------------------------
