W. Carter, enroute to the Winnsboro high school Monday morning, skidded in loose gravel and going into the road ditch, resulted in the death of Robert Ogden, 12, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. P. Ogden, residents of the Oak Grove community, and the injury of several other school children. The accident occured on the Winnsboro-Ft. Necesssity highway near the edge of town. According to information given by some of the occupants of the bus, the bus ran into loose gravel causing the driver to lose control, going into the road ditch and turning over on the side. The Ogden boy was sitting in the front end of the bus near the door, and as the bus turned over the door came open and young Ogden fell out and was pinned under the bus with only his head protruding. He was carried to the Rogers Clinic where an examination showed a crushed body, causing death at 10:40 A.M. Some of the other children sustained minor injuries, but none of a serious nature. Monday was the opening day of school in Franklin Parish and there were 61 children on the bus when the accident occured. Funeral services were held for young Ogden on last Tuesday afternoon, and interment was made in the Liddieville cemetery, Rev. Ratcliff conducting the services. ************************************
