Knox Buried Saturday Prominent Baskin Resident Passes Away At Age of 69 One of Franklin parishes prominent planters, Perry M. Knox age 69, died last Friday after a three year illness and was interred Saturday in the Coax cemetery, following a service at the Coax Church. Officiating at the rites were Rev. C. P. Lowery, of the Monroe Church of Christ, assisted by Rev. M. S. Burns of Crowley. Mr. Knox was born at Huttig, Ark., in 1871 He was married in 1894 to Miss Georgia Alston and moved to this parish in 1912, where he resided until his death last week. Three years ago Mr. Knox suffered a stroke and had been in very ill health since that time. His death occurred at his home at Baskin. Mr. Knox is survived by a large family, including four daughters, four sons, three brothers, 19 grand children and two great-grandchildren. His surviving daughters are Mrs. V. J. Rawls of Woodworth, Mrs. Lester Phillips of Crowley, Mrs. . D. Coburn of Winnsboro, and Miss Burnell Knox of Beaumont; and his four sons are Asa Knox; who lives in the Panama Canal Zone, Dennis Knox of Sterlington, Grady Knox of Gilbert and Powell Knox of Sulphur Bluff, Tex. Surviving sisters are Mrs. A. Gather of Sims, Tex., and Mrs. Luicy Brasher of El Dorado, Ark. His brothers are Norman, John and Ollie Knox of Huttig. The services last Saturday were handled by the Winnsboro Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Lester Phillips, C. J. Coburn, Renry Reagan, Dennis Knox, Grady Knox, and Powell Knox. *************************************** The Franklin Sun October 10, 1940 Submitted by: Karen Sue McNease J. Charlie McNease J.Charlie McNease of Crowville died here Sunday afternoon at the age of 68. Services for Mr. McNease took place at the Crowville Baptist Church Monday afternoon, with Rev. C.S. Wroten having charge. Interment followed in the Crowville Masonic Cemetery. Mr. McNease is survived by four sons, Coy, J.R., Devon, and Albert, all of Crowville; and six daughters, Mrs. H. Lott of Tallulah, and Mrs. Bertha Evans, Mrs. Edna Welch, Miss Willene McNease, Mrs. Lula Robinson and Mrs. T. Newsom, all of Crowville. Serving as pallbearers were Wallace King, Chas. Richardson, Jake Neatherland, Ed Brannon, A. Hammond and J. C. Weeks. The Winnsboro Funeral Home was in charge. *******************************
