Blackman, who died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Gladys Brooks of Winnsboro, were held Tuesday afternoon at the Central Baptist church in Wisner. Interment was in the Central cemetery, with Rev. Mr. Carroll and the Rev. Mr. McLemore, of the Methodist and Baptist churches respectively, officiating. The funeral was under the direction of Mulhearn's. Mr. Blackman, who was 76 years old, is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Brooks and Mrs. Ola Dampier of Wisner; two sons, James A. Blackman, night marshall at Wisner, and John C. Blackman, trooper in the state police department. ----------------------------------------------------------------- The Franklin Sun Winnsboro, LA February 18, 1943 Submitted October 2008 by: Glenda Warner Boyd Jacob Duncan Rites Are Held Friday For Jacob Duncan, 62 Final rites were held for Jacob Duncan, 62-year-old resident of Fort Necessity, who died Wednesday night at his residence after a short illness. The religious services were held in the Liddieville Baptist church with the Rev. Dana Terry of Winnsboro officiating. Interment followed in the Ogden cemetery. Mr. Duncan, who was a Mason and a member of the New Hope Lodge of Liddieville, is survived by his wife; a son, Robert Duncan, Lake Charles; three daughters, Mrs. Inez Crow, Mrs. Addie Jones and Mrs. Florence Crow, all of Winnsboro; three brothers, T. A. Duncan, Bastrop, James Duncan, Franklinton, and Newt Duncan, Franklinton; and a sister, Mrs. Fannie Johnson, Bogalusa. Hollins Final rites for Mrs. Sallie Hollins, 83, who died at her home in Gilbert Monday afternoon following a long illness, were held at the Central Baptist church Tuesday afternoon. The Rev. Leo McLemore officiated and interment was made in the Central cemetery. Pallbearers were D. W. Tucker, W. L. McMahon, Edward Mercer, L. M. McMahon, Fred Mercer and Charles Garner. Arrangements were under direction of First National Funeral home. Necessity, were held Tuesday afternoon at the Oak Grove church near Winnsboro, with the Rev. T. J. Ratcliff officiating. The burial, under the direction of Mulhearn's Funeral home, followed in the church cemetery. Victor Smith Franklin Marine Killed in Action Another Franklin parish youth, Pfc. Victor Smith of the U.S. marines, has been reported killed in action in the Pacific theatre of war operations. He is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Smith of route one, Winnsboro. The young local marine enlisted for service in October of 1941 and had been overseas since January of 1942. Wiggins Archie Wiggins Rites Conducted Monday Last rites for Archie D. Wiggins, 48-year-old resident of Winnsboro who died at his home late Saturday night after a very short illness, were held Monday afternoon at the Oak Grove church with the Rev. J. D. Kitchenham of Columbia officiating, assisted by the Rev. A. C. Trapp. Mr. Wiggins was a veteran of World War I, an operator of a Franklin parish school bus and lifelong resident of Franklin parish. Pallbearers were: T. W. Wells, Richard Mock, Clifford Ezell, Monroe Simon, Edward Ellerman, Homer Ellerman, Dan Johnston, and Phillip Robinson. Fowler, Will Fowler, Doc Bennett and Grady Womack. Mrs. Williams, who died at her home in Liddieville Friday morning following a long illness, is survived by: Her husband, D. E. Williams of Liddieville; a daughter, Louise Williams of Liddieville, two sons, Ernest and Earl Grayson of Shreveport and Liddieville, respectively; four sisters, Cassie Williams of Liddieville, Mrs. Lizzie Nielsen of Winnsboro, Mrs. E.
